As we start the next semester of the school year, take time out to remember the importance of play.
Today's kids can so quickly become over-scheduled.  It is easy to let worry take control, telling us
that "if our child doesn't take (fill in enrichment class here), they will fall behind."
As Sergio Pellis, a researcher at the University of Lethbridge in Alberta, Canada,  notes, play "is what prepares a young brain for life, love and even schoolwork. But to produce this sort of brain development, children need to engage in plenty of so-called free play," So take an afternoon off.  Its good for you.
