Award Winning Folktales





Every January the American Library Association announces the winner of the Caldecott Medal. This is “awarded to the artist of the most distinguished American Picture Book for Children published in the United States during the preceding year.” Since 1938, stories based on folktales, folklore, legends and nursery rhymes have won 24 times.
